I spent a "vacation" day Friday unloading 2 trucks of bottled water into a
evacuation shelter
and then went home and got my bees & backyard ready for IRENE.
A huge limb came of a tree in my neighbors back yard in Brooklyn.
It came down on the fence and into my backyard
with the tip of one side branch landing on the hive stand
next to by big swarm-trapped hive.

Both that hive and the temporary split next to it that I made for the
replacement queen came through OK.
