In Hawaii, chickens are almost the state bird. Whether you want them or not, they're there.
A friend kept bees and had a dozen or so chickens. When we suited up, the chickens got excited, followed us down into the apiaries and formed rings around the hives we were working. When the
top came off, any centipedes, cockroaches, geckos that fell off was immediately gobbled up by a chicken.
But they never touched the bees.
