?? However when does maize/corn
> bloom there? July or August?
Corn is the first crop planted and with the many different farmers planting
whenever time and weather permits corn is usually teaseling in a field near
bees May, June, July and even at times in August.
Field corn takes a 120 days (approx.) to mature and *dry*. August is a bit
late for fresh corn pollen but I have never really looked closely enough to
answer as July & especially August are busy beekeeping times.
Stunted corn and there is plenty in wet & dry years will continue to grow
and will top late.
I am about done with certain areas with huge acreage of corn although I have
kept bees there for decades.
