ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

I just had the pleasure of joining the Birla Science Center and the National
Council of Science Museums in a day long program celebrating National
Science Day in India. One of the topics raised was an intense interest in
professional exchange.  The program model suggested is that each museum
cover the transportation for its own staff member in the other country.  The
host museum would then cover the cost of housing and per diem.  (ie  A U.S.
colleague would fly to India on their own budget to work on a mutually
agreed upon project.  The Indian host museum would cover the costs of their
housing and per diem.  Then an Indian colleague would cover their own flight
costs to the U.S. and the U.S. museum to work on a mutually agreed upon
project and the U.S. host museum would cover housing and per diem)  Indian
colleague museums are willing to entertain project ideas and exchanges of up
to a year, but shorter periods are also open for review.
