Not all good comes from situating your colonies near a forest. Pine
forests can yield honeydew in the fall which, in long hard winters,
can harm bees. BTDT
Pine honeydew is an excellent honey for beekeeper consumption, but not
for the bees. I manage my bees so they get little fall honey by
oversupering.
