A few things worth noting:
1. The presumption that the "ecosystem" is defined by microbial population/activity.
2. That some organisms were encouraged by exposure to roundup...this jibes with the observations by Jay Yoder et al. that exposure to hfcs and organic acids inhibits some and encourages others. When we were doing our tests with yeasts and formic acid, we tried all kinds of things. Sevin (the insecticide) sped up yeast fermentation over the control.
