I always have to chuckle when I see references to the Arnot Forest. This little patch of woods is about 14 miles from my house. The nearest town from it is seven miles. There are dozens of beekeepers in the vicinity, at least three of whom are commercial beekeepers, owning nearly a thousand hives among them. The Arnot Forest is no island and is hardly isolated.
