I actually watched an entire episode of American Digger last night where they went to Detroit. Unbelievably, the vacant lot that they were digging on happened to either be on or in close proximity to the property where my great grandmother owned two houses (still standing) located next door to the abandoned hotel near the old train station. She owned one of the houses and rented out the other as a boarding house from ca. 1905 to the 1930's. This is the Corktown area of Detroit. They managed to find a lot of things including a pepperbox gun and a bag with numerous old coins and a very old cross.
