The New York State Museum will host a free multidisciplinary symposium on the history and archaeology of ironworking in New York. Presenters will include archaeologists, historians, geologists and historic blacksmiths. There will be a smelting demonstration and a tour of a recreated functioning belt-driven machine-shop.
