The Bell operation felt years ago that wax contamination could be reduced by
removing a large part of the wax and letting the bees rebuild.
tens of thousands of frames were run through a boganshutz uncapper adjusted
to cut off almost all the wax. The wax removed was rendered.
I felt it helped remove wax contamination and when running ten frames in ten
frame equipment made it easier to work the bees.
I have used a chain flail uncapper myself to remove wax.
Both methods are very fast. machines are faster than hands.
