>Yes that's right.  The centre frame of each honey super is for cut comb, the other 8 extracting. 

I seem to recall that the books say that a residue of granulation in previously extracted combs put back on 'sticky' can cause early granulation in new honey compared to fresh comb or to combs 'licked out' by the bees before storage. That is one reason some people try to have the bees clean the combs before storage.

Other beekeepers, like me, do not care, and believe the combs store better and are accepted better the next year if stored 'wet'.
