ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

Last week, there was an exchange about public Internet access in museums. Bob and others seemed to be saying they'd like to avoid the "Internet cafe" atmosphere. I'm curious about why. Public libraries seem to have embraced this role, and they're very busy these days. I've also enjoyed sitting in the Science Museum of Minnesota's coffee shop, in the free zone just inside the entrance, using the Internet while waiting to meet someone. I'd be interested in hearing more about pros and cons - and ways in which museums are different from libraries in this respect.
