Bob, would you mind clarifying what you mean by F1 as applied to a
colony of bees? The way I see it is if you start with a pure queen and
inseminate it with pure drones of a different race than you will get F1
workers but you still have a pure queen. The next generation will have
an F1 queen but F2 workers. Which of these 2 colonies displays the F1
vigour that you speak of and when do you reach the dreaded F3 generation?
