A beekeeper friend told me his fruit tree problems ended when he set up a bunch of house wren nest boxes in his backyard orchard. He said the birds cleaned his backyard of insects and their caterpillars. They also kept berry-seeking birds out of his yard so he could harvest his blueberries etc.
I don't know to what extent, if any, wrens feed on honey bees though!
