Jack Paquette, a retired Vice President of Owens-Illinois Glass Company will
be giving a free lecture on the history of the company at the University of
Toledo Library's Ward M. Canaday Center for Special Collections on
Wednesday, March 16th at 3:00pm. Jack has written two histories of
Owens-Illinois Glass Company along with a book titled *Blowpipes* which is
about the boom of glass factories in Northern Ohio following the discovery
of natural gas in the 1880s. This second history of Owens-Illinois Glass
Company is titled *The Glassmakers.* Copies of the books will be on sale
after his talk. For further information call Barbara Floyd at
419-530-2170. Jack was instrumental in getting the Owens-Illinois papers
transferred to the University of Toledo Library.

Peace,
George L. Miller
