This may not exactly count, but the jazz pianist Bill Evans made a
wonderful album called CONVERSATIONS WITH MYSELF in which he 'serially
improvised' three-piano interpretations of tunes; he recorded one part
straight through, then the second while listening to the first, then the
third while listening to the first two.  The pianos are all separated
pretty far in the stereo field, so it's easy to hear what's going on.

I understand that it caused quite a commotion when it came out; the
purists were offended, or something.  In any case, it's a great record.
