> Does anyone have more information about this phorid fly?
The phorid is a parasite of bees (around the world) and the worms travel to
the brain of the bees and the bee does strange behavior. No cure.
A recent discussion about the phroid fly & bees was done on the entomology
list.
people observing bees flying to lights at night in Florida started the
conversation.
The discussion was started by Dr. Orley Taylor (University of Kansas
entomology) and includes some comments by me.
There are some websites posted explaining more about the phorid.
The phorid fly is not new but perhaps rediscovered by researchers looking
into CCD through dissecting bee brains.
