I echo Pete's comments about the fungicides, which is the pesticide that
they are referring to, specifically chlorothalanil (Bravo). Entombment may
well be a simple generic phenomenon with beebread gone bad.
I see scattered entombed cells in my operation, and have for years. My only
exposure to fungicides is in almonds, but I've never noticed any entombment
of almond pollen!
I sometimes notice sick brood next to entombed pollen, but have not yet made
any firm correlation between the two.
