Hi all,
We use caplugs brand, one and a half inch plastic plugs for our feeder pails for filling them and also use the same plug for a feeder hole in our wood covers(works on telescoping too)
They work excellent, except for they start breaking after a couple of years due to UV rays.
We swear by them. They are tapered and the best hole saw is a 1 7/16 forstner bit available on Amazon. Wedge in perfect and don't leak.
I called this morning and we can get them in UV protected black color, but the minimum order is 4000 at $129 per M. That comes to 13 cents per plug with a pretty long lifespan.
I was only going to order a couple boxes @ 1000 each.
Anyone interested in getting on board? This unit has been road tested by us and we can recommend them. I would order up the 4000 pieces with a 3 week timeframe for a special order.
And btw, I was asked about the reflectix we use on top of the bees for the winter insulation in re: to the bees chewing it up. The answer is no....the bees don't chew it up.
good day,
