The alleged effect we have been discussiing is the the alleged mass invasion of waiting phoretic varroa foundress mites into the first brood to be capped after a broodless period of undefined length and for undefined reasons during an undefined season in hives of undefined bee and varroa population profiles and dynamics.

Some claim it exists.  Some infer it exists, but our limited direct observations have so far not been able to observe it.
