After Chernobyl the local environmental health chap bought a jar of my
honey which went off to Southampton University for testing. I heard nothing
back so presume it was ok or just added to a data base.
On another occasion, when I was secretary to our county BKA I was asked by
Defra, one of our government departments, for the name and address of a
beekeeper close to the atomic energy establishment at Winfrith Heath. I
pointed out that under the Data Protection Act I wasn't allowed to bandy around
the details of our members, but gave them instead the details of a
non-member keeping bees within half a mile of the site.
