In our observation hive, that went through two CCD crashes, the old queen
was still there at the end, laying as fast as she could.
That seems consistent with what we've always seen, original queen still
laying, often more brood than the shrinking adult bee population can cover and
feed.
Its not a queen problem, per se. At least, not in terms of queen loss or
lack of laying.
