True. There are many foods that would be banned by the FDA because of their
chemical content, like garlic, but are touted as anticancer and a miraculous
health food. Plants make their own pesticides, otherwise they would succumb
to their pests. Broccoli is loaded with them.
As far as bees go, note that the 60ppm amounts in the study are half of what
the LD-50 is for thymol and bees according to Dave Cushman. So, if my math
was correct, half a drop per liter would be too much.
Also, in most of the formulations, they boil water with the EO either in
solution or add it a bit after so who knows how much is left. Its bp is
233C. It is in the Benzene family.
