A neighbor has had Kenyan top bar hives for tha past year. The bees all died
last winter and my guess is she will fare no better this winter mainly
because of starvation (also my guess).

Is there a northern limit for Kenyan top bar hives?

What triggered my question was the comment that warm colonies expand
horizontally while colder climate bees expand vertically, which makes sense
for a variety of reasons, as well as what we generally observe here in
Maine.
