Chris, almonds are harvested by shaking from the trees onto the ground, and
hen swept up. Any vegetation gets in the way.
SPREAD NETS. Then the nets could be picked up, nuts and all, after the shake
hich would probably use less labour than picking them up individually.
Also, vegetation on the orchard floor allows temperatures to drop on frosty
ights, which can make the difference between keeping and losing a crop.
