STOP! If you use moth crystals in a super with honey, it will be ruined. The
aroma of PDB will permeate the honey and taint it forever, making it unfit for
human consumption. At this time of year, placing the super in a plastic bag,
tightly closed, and placing in an unheated garage, trunk of your car, etc. to
freeze it for a couple days is al it will take to kill the moths, eggs and all.
I would be concerned with the honey crystallizing in the comb. Again, freezing can prevent this. If you have a deep freeze, put the super, or combs, tightly
wrapped in plastic, into the freezer for the winter. Honey doesn't crystallize
below about 35 degrees Farenheit.
Remember. Never use naphthalene crystals, use paradichlorobenzene, and never
use moth crystals on combs containing honey.
