Dear Histarch members,

The spring 2012 issue of The Bead Forum, the newsletter of the Society of Bead Researchers (SBR), will be issued soon and contains:

- A short research article by Laurie Burgess and Christopher Sperling, Glass Beads from Gloucester Point, Virginia.

- An article by Karlis Karklins on the recent Borneo International Beads Conference.

I'm currently seeking submissions for the fall 2012 issue. Please consider submitting research news, requests for information, recent publications, conference and symposia announcements and brief articles on bead research. Both historic and prehistoric subject materials are welcome.

The deadline is September 1, 2012. Please send submissions to me at: [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.

The Society of Bead Researchers is a non-profit corporation, founded in 1981 to foster research on beads of all materials and periods. Membership is open to all persons involved in the study of beads, as well as those interested in keeping abreast of current trends in bead research. The society publishes a semi-annual newsletter, The Bead Forum, and an annual journal, Beads: Journal of the Society of Bead Researchers. The society's website address is http://www.beadresearch.org. Contact Alice Scherer, Secretary/Treasurer, for membership information: [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.
