As with sites, so with artifacts:
If any of you are attending the SHA meetings in Austin this year, come join
a working session on Saturday morning, Jan 8th, entitled "Invisible
Archaeology - Collections, Curation and Stewardship" at which the issues of
value, selection and ownership are not only being discussed, but are being
addressed with a preliminary methodology for decision-making, with input
from Canada and the UK as well.
It's a first stab at getting something transparent and defensible to work
with -participation will be welcomed, and the team will be posting
background reading and material on the SHA website in December, so watch
that space.

More, anon.

That's 1930's-60's technology [exactly]

Hard times require hard choices [even during the best of times, it seems
things were neglected: they haven't done much in over 230 years...]
