With apologies for cross-posting, I have just learned of the passing of David J. Weber, professor emeritus of Southwestern history at SMU and founder of the Clements Center for Southwest Studies at SMU. Apparently, David was taken by cancer on Friday last. I have no other details yet. No doubt they will be forthcoming.
David was a very gracious man and a remarkable scholar.
