Historical archaeology is global, not just "New World" (I don't think we
actually use that phrase anymore, do we?) or at least not just the Americas.
I want to learn about historical archaeology from all over the world, and
this list seems the appropriate venue for that. I do hope we are not going
to exclude the so-called Old World or Australasia or Africa or any other
place with sites dating to the early modern and modern era.
Of course historical archaeology is also Classical, Mesopotamian, Egyptian,
and medieval archaeology (and probably Maya as well), but I can understand
restricting our list to a relative time period. Not geographically,
however.
