Hi all,

In light of the recent posts on 3D historical archaeology, I thought I'd highlight an effort that I work with undergraduate students at Virginia Commonwealth University that documents historic (and prehistoric) artifacts. This can be seen at the following web sites:
http://virtualcurationmuseum.wordpress.com/2014/03/27/animation-of-the-day-escutcheon-from-ferry-farm/

and http://vcuarchaeology3d.wordpress.com/

The Society for Historical Archaeology recently published on their web site a technical brief detailing some of our efforts.

Cheers all,

Bernard K. Means, Director, Virtual Curation Laboratory
