Sorry to take so long to get back to you - Xmas vacation and all that.  I have a short article from Discovery Magazine (July 2001) that is about the Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto (see: www.batashoemuseum.ca).  I'm sure they can lead you to someone that can help on this topic.
