Dear colleagues -
Applications are still being accepted for the one-year taught Masters (MSt) in
Archaeology, and for doctoral study (DPhil) in Archaeology, at Oxford for October 2010
entry. The one-year MSt allows students to develop a taylor-made programme of study,
delivered through tutorials and classes with the supervisors of their choice, as a prelude
to doctoral study, or as the basis for a professional career in archaeology.
Teaching staff in in historical archaeology include myself (European/New World historical
archaeology, C17-C21), Prof Chris Gosden (archaeology of colonialism, Australasian &
Pacific archaeology), Prof Peter Mitchell (archaeology of Africa), Dr Eleanor Standley
(early post-medieval Europe) and Dr Nicky Boivin (Indian Ocean, South Asia, East Africa).
Those interested in applying to conduct research in the field of historical archaeology are
welcome to drop me a line to discuss their research interests, or for advice on the
application process - [log in to unmask]
I'd be very grateful if colleagues could forward details to students, as appropriate.
