One year I put away my bee gloves wet, and they were as hard as could be in
the spring. I used a leather conditioning oil which contained lanolin to
soften them and nearly every bee within a foot of the gloves came over and
stung them. There probably were other chemicals in the conditioning oil.
Lanolin is a natural oil that sheep exude into their wool. Has anyone
noticed bees giving sheep a bad time?
