<Besides the insects, what about US? We end up eating the stuff!>
It is becoming reasonably established now that some of the neonicitinoids are so powerful for some insects, and even some aquatic life, that they can produce detrimental effects on developing young at concentration levels that are essentially undetectable (less than 1 ppB) and that synergistic effects between some of these chemicals are even orders of magnitude more powerful. It seems to me that there is a strong case to be made for banning the use of any systemic pesticide, fungicide, or herbicide that is so powerful that its presence cannot be detected.
