The Nanoscale Informal Science Education Network will be offering a pre-conference workshop on nano in children's museums in conjunction with the Association of Children's Museums (ACM) Interactivity annual conference
Thoughts about Super-Small: Nano in Children’s Museums
Wednesday, May 5, 2010
8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
St. Paul, MN
Come for a fun-filled day of nano-learning the children’s museum way!
Workshop spaces and travel subsidy funding still available!
Pre-registration required; cost $25; includes breakfast, lunch, snack and all workshop materials.
For museum professionals only.
Children visiting museums today will be the scientists, educators and law-makers of tomorrow. Come learn how to excite young children about nanotechnology with age-appropriate programs. This pre-conference workshop will introduce children’s museum staffers to the concepts around nanotechnology and nanoscale as well as share many nano-related activities that are ideal in a children’s museum setting. Content for this workshop is presented by members of Nanoscale Informal Science Education Network (NISE Net), a group of museum professionals (including children’s museum professionals) that develop nanotech-related resources for museums. The preliminary agenda for the pre-conference workshop can be found on page 12 of the Interactivity conference program as well as at: http://www.nisenet.org/community/events/association_childrens_museums_interactivity_2010_annual_meeting General information on the entire Interactivity conference can be found at: http://www.childrensmuseums.org/conferences/IA2010index.htm
