>doing nosema counts on dead bees Thanksgiving morning
We got hammered by snow and cold this week. Cleared yesterday, so I took 4
yard samples of dead bees on the entrance boards. One showed nosema counts
of about 5M, three were close to zero. All looked like N ceranae, except
looked like one spore of N apis in one sample.
Not to say that I don't see nosema infections in some dead bees, and in some
sick colonies. Just doesn't seem to be that much of an issue for me,
despite no treatment for nosema. Am not saying that it can't be an issue
for you.
