I remember that "incident".  In fact, that year, Alabama did offer special dispensation to those who wished to participate in out-of-state pollination.  The bees were inspected before they left and they were to be inspected before reentry into the state.  This is the only occurrence of which I'm aware.  So legal wise, everything on that trip was on the up and up.
