Biological control works for what it is designed to do, which is control a
pest. But it does not eliminate the pest, which is where many farmers would
agree that it does not work.
The problem is blemished fruit and vegetables and low yield. If the public
is not willing to pay more for food and also accept blemishes, then, again,
you are back in the world of it does not work.Just walk behind someone in
the grocery store and watch them pick through produce.
So, in the sustainable and organic world, it works. In the grocery store, it
does not. All depends on perspective.
In the case of Varroa, it would work.
