Juanse,
At the spring Ontario Beekeepers Association Bee Breeders meeting today, our
Tech Transfer Team gave an update of their breeding program for 2009 and the
plans for 2010. They had tested 294 colonies from Bee Breeders in the
program, from across Ontario. One of the tests was for Tracheal Mites and
the total percentage of colonies with Tracheal Mites was 0%.
Formic Acid Pads have been used for quite some years now here in Ontario and
as well as knocking down the Varroa, has done an excellent job on the
Tracheal Mite.
