Hello All,
Marian Ellis told us not to use more than 35 ML on a hive and not to treat a
small hive on a few frames of bees. I never try to winter a hives with a few
frames so all mine could take OA.

All my hives are 10 frames of bees (now) so I can't see why 35 ml. should be
a limit.

We do stick by the 5 mL a seam he suggests.

Looks like we will not be using OA this fall as we have went above average
temps last thirty days( 50-70F.) and we are still seeing up to four frames
of brood in the hives. Really rare for our area at this time
.
Mite counts are lowest in years so I think will pass on the OA unless temps
change.

I broke down today with a load of bees on. The wrecker was slow to arrive.
We stood around with no protection so the wrecker driver would not be so
concerned about the bees. Luckily he only received one sting.

The owner of the closest house came out to tell me to move my truck . Then
got angry when I told him I might have to unload the pallets in his front
yard to get a wrecker but would return with another truck to pick up the
hives. About then a bee got after the home owner and he made a hasty
retreat.

We could see the home owner in his picture window. He saw me looking in his
direction and gave me the finger!

Damn I love commercial beekeeping!

bob
