I treated about 20 hives with 1-5 frames of bees in early January here with
5ml per frame with no apparent problems. They were coming off summer/fall
drought conditions and were mite stressed. They did recover with
supplemental protein and syrup feeding after treatment. However, my bees
often have a few hours of flying weather that time of year when pollen from
camellias and other shrubs start becoming available. Perhaps it makes a
difference in areas where they can't fly regularly regarding the amount of
oxalic used.
