Bob writes: Jack Lalaine ( age 95) was on Fox News today and in prefect health. Waldo McBurney was in excellent health at 106 when he passed in August. Both say the key to good health is eating right and exercise.

I am afraid no one has the answers on this one. Some live long, and some don't

J.I. Rodale was the founder of Rodale Press and publisher of Organic Farming and Gardening magazine starting in 1942. Organic Farming and Gardening promoted organic horticulture; later retitled Organic Gardening, it is the most-read gardening periodical worldwide[citation needed]. To Rodale, agriculture and health were inseparable. Healthy soil required compost and eschewing poisonous pesticides and artificial fertilizers. Eating plants grown in such soil would then help humans stay healthier, he expounded.

* Rodale died of a heart attack at the age of 72 while participating as a guest on The Dick Cavett Show.

Adelle Davis, was an American pioneer in the fledgling field of nutrition during the mid-20th century. She advocated whole unprocessed foods, criticized food additives, and claimed that dietary supplements and other nutrients play a dominant role maintaining health, preventing disease, and restoring health after the onset of disease: "Research shows that diseases of almost every variety can be produced by an under-supply of various combinations of nutrients... [and] can be corrected when all nutrients are supplied, provided irreparable damage has not been done; and, still better, that these diseases can be prevented."

* Adelle Davis died of bone cancer at the age of seventy.
