Not to a better worker bee in its lifetime. Oxidation can/does lead to mutagenesis in humans. If expressed in an advantagous way in the offspring it would result in a 'better' organism. Nevertheless, as we age, our goal should be DNA replication as perfect as possible if we want to be healthy and live long.
