Peter - that's interesting. The old-timers in my area (Catskills) all
talk of using anise oil as an attractant for swarms, and we've got
bears like crazy. I tried baiting a nuc with drawn comb and anise oil
last year, placing it up in a tree close to a swarm that was way out
of reach. It was ignored by both the bees and the bears...
