I just uploaded two older papers on honey bee nutrition. One by E F Phillips (1927) and another by M Haydak (1970). Phillips states that the problem with some honeys is dextrins. But not exactly. He says the dextrins don't hurt the bees but cause them to be more active in winter, raising the temperature to harmful levels.
