The important point is to get the brood frames out of the box and 'cleaned'
of spores otherwise re-infestation will continue. They can then be
re-introduced to the colony, neither the freezing not the acetic acid
fumigation will damage pollen or honey in the frames. Both will, of course
kill any brood which is why the 'Bailey Frame Change' is recommended. It is
a method of moving the colony onto clean frames while allowing the brood the
develop to adult bees.
Acetic acid is also supposed to deal with chalk brood and E.F.B.
