I bought a box of junk at an auction, and in it was an assortment of old paint, including two gallons of creosote oil (75% and 25% petroleum distillates) and a gallon of "Bloxrot-O" (Pentachlorophenol).
Both of these are wood preservatives. I remember Richard Taylor writing about using creosote. I searched the BEE-L archives and the little info available didn't have anything real solid to say about either, except a great deal of skepticism of their safety, particularly toward asorbtion into the honey and mortality to the bees.
What's the most recent info?
