This long discussion amazes me.
Here in Europe, in our temperate latitude, we clearly see that the phenomenon is race dependent.
The carnolian bee and the black bee stop breeding in early autumn while the buckfast never stops, except in severe frost, which is not so common here.
Would the different races react differently on the same stimuli?
