Hello,

Seeking information concerning muscardine disease in bees, or
perhaps it may be known as green muscardine disease.  What 
is the cause, and how bees are affected. 

As best I can estimate the time, in the 1860’s or maybe early 1870’s 
there were reports that stated ‘nearly all the bees died’ in Brazil from 
a sickness called muscardine, which is said to be caused by a fungus.
 
All I have been able to find are brief descriptions of the event, but I 
am really after specific dates and more detailed descriptions  
concerning the disease and the bee mortality in Brazil.
